About Oxton Journals

Last updated: Jun 15, 2026

Oxton Journals — Scientific Publishing Platform is an international scientific publisher dedicated to hosting, managing and disseminating peer-reviewed academic journals. Established as an independent publishing initiative based in Brazil, the platform was conceived around a simple conviction: rigorous science deserves a publishing infrastructure that is transparent, ethical, technologically modern and permanently open to readers everywhere.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advance the global circulation of scientific knowledge by combining methodological rigor with editorial transparency. We provide researchers with a publishing environment in which every stage of the editorial process — from submission to publication — is documented, auditable and conducted according to internationally recognized standards of research integrity. We believe that trust in science begins with trust in the way science is evaluated and published.

The Oxton Editorial Engine

All journals hosted on the platform operate on the Oxton Editorial Engine, a purpose-built editorial management system that supports the complete scholarly publishing workflow: structured multi-step submission with mandatory ethics declarations, automatic documentary validation, double-blind peer review with protected reviewer anonymity, documented editorial decisions, structured revision rounds, professional editorial production, DOI-ready bibliographic metadata and immediate open access publication. Authors follow the status of their manuscripts in real time, and every editorial action is recorded in a permanent audit trail.

Our Journals

Oxton Journals currently publishes two international peer-reviewed journals, each with its own ISSN, editor-in-chief, editorial board, masthead, policies and visual identity:

  • Oxton Science Journal (ISSN 3086-0881, online, Brazil) — an international, multidisciplinary scientific journal focused on health sciences, applied science, education, technology, health management, sleep, pain, rehabilitation, human movement, human behavior and interdisciplinary research.
  • Journal of Sleep, Health, and Physiotherapy (ISSN 3085-6167, online, Brazil) — an international journal specialized in sleep, health, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, pain, functionality, physical activity, exercise, human movement, clinical health, applied health technologies and translational science.

Each journal is editorially independent. Editors-in-chief hold exclusive editorial authority over their own journal, and the confidentiality of each journal's editorial records is strictly enforced by the platform itself.

Editorial Model and Peer Review

All hosted journals adopt double-blind peer review as the standard evaluation model. Manuscripts first undergo editorial screening for scope, originality, ethics documentation and minimum quality; approved manuscripts are then evaluated by independent expert reviewers who access only anonymized files, and only after formally accepting the invitation and declaring any conflicts of interest. Editorial decisions are documented, justified and communicated to authors together with the reviewer reports. Revision rounds are structured, with point-by-point response letters and full version history.

Ethics and Research Integrity

Oxton Journals follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) across all of its journals. Our policies require ethics committee approval for research involving human participants or animals, informed consent where applicable, transparent authorship based on ICMJE criteria, full disclosure of conflicts of interest and funding sources, responsible data reporting and a mandatory statement on the use of artificial intelligence tools. Suspected misconduct is investigated and may result in rejection, correction, expression of concern or retraction, always with public and permanent notice. Editorial decisions are never influenced by fees, fast track status or any commercial consideration.

Open Access and Copyright

Every article published by Oxton Journals is available in immediate and permanent open access, free of charge to readers, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright of their work. We are committed to the long-term digital preservation of the complete scholarly record of our journals, through redundant storage, persistent identifiers and stable public URLs.

Discoverability and Metadata

Each published article receives complete, structured bibliographic metadata — title, authors, ORCID iDs, affiliations, abstract, keywords, license, editorial dates, volume, number, year and e-location — prepared in Crossref-compatible format, together with citation tools in ABNT, APA 7 and Vancouver styles. The platform is built to meet the documentary requirements of national and international indexing services, and indexing applications are pursued progressively as each journal consolidates its publication record.

Governance and Contact

Oxton Journals is maintained by its Editorial Office in São Paulo, SP, Brazil, which is responsible for the institutional administration of the platform, the technical operation of the Oxton Editorial Engine and the coordination of editorial production across journals. Researchers, institutions and readers may contact the Editorial Office at editorial@oxtonjournals.com. Detailed information for authors, reviewers and editors, as well as the complete editorial policies of each journal, is available throughout this portal.
