For Editors

Editors at Oxton Journals work with full editorial autonomy inside a structure designed for accountability. The Oxton Editorial Engine gives each editorial team complete operational control of its journal — and only of its journal.

Editorial Independence and Scope

Each journal has its own editor-in-chief, who holds exclusive editorial authority over submissions to that journal. The platform enforces this boundary technically: editors of one journal cannot access manuscripts, reviewer identities or editorial records of another. Associate and section editors handle manuscripts assigned to them and recommend decisions to the editor-in-chief.

The Editorial Workspace

For every manuscript, editors have a single workspace concentrating the submission files, declarations, screening checklist, reviewer management (pool search, invitations, deadlines, reminders and report quality ratings), author revision history, decision recording with mandatory internal justification, and the complete status timeline. Queues highlight overdue reviews and fast-tracked manuscripts requiring administrative priority.

Decisions and Documentation

Every editorial decision is recorded with its justification, date and responsible editor, and is automatically communicated to authors together with the anonymized reviewer reports. The complete editorial history of each manuscript is permanent and auditable — the basis of editorial accountability on the platform.

Reporting

Editors have access to editorial reports of their journal: submissions by status, acceptance and rejection rates, average time to decision, reviewer activity and production progress. Researchers interested in editorial roles may contact editorial@oxtonjournals.com.
