Accessibility Policy
Last updated: Jun 15, 2026
Scientific knowledge must be accessible to everyone — including people with disabilities. Oxton Journals treats digital accessibility as an editorial responsibility and develops its platform with reference to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
Accessibility Measures in Place
- Semantic structure: meaningful headings, landmarks and lists on all pages, enabling efficient navigation with screen readers;
- Keyboard navigation: all interactive functionality — menus, forms, modals, dashboards — operable without a mouse;
- Labeled forms: every form field carries an explicit label, with clear error and status messages;
- Contrast: color combinations chosen for adequate contrast between text and background, with status information never conveyed by color alone;
- Alternative text: meaningful images and illustrations carry textual alternatives; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technologies;
- Responsive design: all pages operate on desktop, notebook, tablet and mobile devices, with reflow and without loss of functionality;
- Readable typography: scalable units and a clear typographic hierarchy throughout the platform.
Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is reviewed continuously as the platform evolves, and accessibility criteria are part of the development process of every new feature. We acknowledge that some third-party content — such as PDF files supplied by authors — may present limitations; the platform progressively encourages accessible formats, including HTML versions of articles.
Feedback
If you encounter any accessibility barrier on this portal or on any hosted journal, please write to editorial@oxtonjournals.com describing the page and the difficulty found. Accessibility reports are treated as priority issues.
