DOI and Metadata

Last updated: Jun 15, 2026

Discoverability begins with metadata. Every article published on Oxton Journals receives complete, structured bibliographic metadata prepared in Crossref-compatible format, ready for DOI registration and for harvesting by indexing services and academic search engines.

Article-Level Metadata

The metadata record of each article includes: title and subtitle; full author list with ORCID iDs and affiliations; abstract and keywords; journal title and ISSN; publisher; volume, number, year and e-location; article type and language; license; the editorial dates (received, revised, accepted, published); the permanent article URL; and the full reference list. This record is generated automatically by the platform at publication and stored with the article.

DOI Assignment

Digital Object Identifiers are managed per article through the platform's DOI module, using each journal's registered prefix. The DOI appears on the article page, in the PDF and in all citation formats offered by the platform (ABNT, APA 7 and Vancouver). Metadata deposits are maintained and updated whenever an article receives a correction or any post-publication notice.

Persistent Access

Every article has a stable, permanent public URL, and the platform's preservation policy guarantees the long-term availability of both content and metadata. Corrections, expressions of concern and retractions are linked to the original record, keeping the scholarly record complete and traceable.
